TRA VINH, 28 April – Dr Ho Dac Tuc, deputy dean of TVU School of Foreign Languages, has recently co-published two papers with Drs François Malherbe and Vivienne Waller of Swinburne University in an international conference proceedings.
The first paper entitled "Innovating campus sustainability projects through international collaborative engagements," was presented in the Proceedings of the 14th International Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) hosted by Tasmania University, Australia.
The paper details the sustainability joint project between Swinburne and TVU Universities that highlight aspects of active partnership and staff engagement critical in developing cross border sustainability programs. The main objectives of the project are to offer a platform for students from Australia and Vietnam to jointly develop proposals to improve the physical environment of the Vietnamese campus, and disseminate the message of sustainability to the community.

The second paper entitled "Green transformations at a university campus in Vietnam" identifies key factors that made the green joint project between the two Universities success. These factors include the need to adequately prepare the students and the need to actively scaffold the learning in practical activities. The joint publication is truly part of the joint effort on environmental education between TVU and Australia’s Swinburne University of Technology after Associate Professor Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector, has signed the Talloires Declaration - an international commitment to sustainability in higher education.
In 2014 and 2015, Dr François Malherbe of Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, and Dr Vivienne Waller of Faculty of Health, Arts and Design have led Swinburne students to Tra Vinh to develop a collaboration project around ‘going green’ with TVU students.
