Students in Tra Vinh University with the project “Bottled nectar of nipa” excellently overcame dozens of other projects to win the third prize of the 2021 Hult Prize Southeast Asia Regional (Hult Prize SEA) competition.
On April 11, the final round of the 2021 Hult Prize SEA competition was taking place successfully at Cultural House of Youth in Ho Chi Minh city. The Hult Prize, also known informally as “the Nobel for students”, is the world’s largest and most prestigious student competition about viable business ideas around the world.
In 2021, the Hult Prize with the topic” Food for Good” challenged competing teams to transform food from a bare necessity for survival into a vehicle for human wellbeing and properties.
The semi-final Hult Prize competition officially started on April 10, 2021, and the Organizing Committee selected 6 typical and viable ideas(project) to enter the final round.
During the competition, 34 project teams had participated in the Training Program-which was specially designed by the 2021 Hult Prize Southeast Asia to train many necessary skills and knowledge including teamwork, presentation, pitching, negotiating in business for competing teams.
Son Minh Thien, a sophomore from the School of Foreign Languages and the co-author of project “Bottled nectar of nipa” shared: “After I was trained for 4 weeks about the tips for pitching and Q&A, I felt that this competition was extremely practical and effective when it had positive impacts on the world”.
In the final round, the first prize was awarded to the project “LiZi” by the group from British University VietNam. The second prize belonged to the project “Balturo” by the group from Foreign Trade University. The third prize of the competition belonged to the project “Bottled nectar of nipa" by the group of authors Nguyen Ba Loc, Ngo Phuoc Loc, Lam Thi Ngoc Yen, Son Minh Thien from Tra Vinh University.
