My name is Dong and my hometown is Thanh Hoa province. Currently, I am a student at Tra Vinh University, which is an extremely stunning and spacious school located in the Mekong Delta. I have been studying at the School of Foreign Languages for 3 years. During my campus life, I have faced a wide range of challenges and received plenty of benefits as well. In fact, students who are offered scholarships to study abroad are all in the same boat that is living far away from home and suffer a great influence from a new environment. I would like to share my experience during my time studying at Tra Vinh University.

Firstly, I argue that one of the main positive sides living far away from home is that it expands my horizon. What I meaned by this is that I have the opportunities to meet new people who not only give me their hospitality but also help enhance my perception and knowledge.

In addition, I have been able to take part in sports activities with my teachers and other students, such as playing volleyball, badminton, but especially soccer.

Secondly, I have experienced working and studying with native English teachers and foreign interns. From this opportunity I can gain qualifications, exchange culture, and build language skills which may improve my promotion aspects after graduation.

Turning to the other side of the argument, the teachers will not tell me what to do, but give me numerous options. Besides I cope with the environment in which I likely meet strangers and feel a sense of isolation. Another issue is the difference between regions. I grew up in the north and now I am pursuing my undergraduate program in the south. So, I get stuck in familiarizing myself with northern accent to better converse with southern people. This is a long process and extremely challenging.

In conclusion, “The more experience we gain, the more lessons we learn”. In light of this quotation, I should try to overcome my difficult campus life and learn to adapt to this new, interesting environment.

On the evening of December 19, 2019, the 16th traditional music show - GET TOGETHER of the School of Foreign Languages, Tra Vinh University was held in Campus 1, attracting a lot of students, lecturers, alumni, and volunteers in and outside the university.

In the bustling atmosphere of Christmas and the upcoming New Year, GET TOGETHER has brought a lively music night with diverse foreign-language performances such as singing, dancing, magic shows, musicals and fashion shows in English, French, and Chinese, performed by the students, lecturers and volunteers of the School of Foreign Languages. With this annual music night, students not only have a night of relaxation before the New Year but also get a chance to study, promote their creativity and artistic abilities, as well as exchange culture.

With the theme "Baby shark, no more bags," teachers and students aim to deliver a message that people should join hands to save our living environment by reducing plastic waste. Regarding the preparation work, the organizers said: "There are many things for us to be worried about, such as choosing performances, the designs of backdrop, posters and performance stage, costumes, sound and lighting, and guests. Every little work must be meticulously and carefully done to have a successful show." Most of the performances strongly impressed the audience, especially the fashion shows and musicals. Notably, through the legend of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh, a group of the third-year English majors introduced a spectacular and eye-catching musical in which they told this legendary story accompanied by music. Thus, they called upon everyone to protect the environment to reduce natural disasters.

The show ended successfully in the sublimation of the audience. Kien Ngoc Hieu, an alumnus in the course 2013-2017, shared: "It is a wonderful night when I am here in the GET TOGETHER this year and enjoy many incredible performances. I am especially impressed by the musical in which the students showed their unlimited creative ability as well as their serious and meticulous preparation. Without professional training in artistic performances, the English majors in the musical certainly surprised us with their skillful play-acting. Anyway, each performance in the show gave a very special feeling. Sometimes I was excited, but sometimes I was deeply touched; I just felt like I was standing on the stage."

La Van Qui, an alumnus in the course 2014-2018, also shared: "With diverse genres, GET TOGETHER this year is a combination of many impressive performances. I was especially thrilled to enjoy the dance shows, including Modern Dance and Classical Dance. The musical was quite interesting when the students combined singing, dancing, and drama to bring a very different feeling to the audience. It must be a feeling of satisfaction. The most interesting parts so far were the Fashion shows. This year, the students were so devoted. They made and wore the beautiful costumes, conveying the message of environmental protection. Congratulations on the success of the show!"

Following the annual tradition, GET TOGETHER 2019 of the School of Foreign Languages once again brought the audience an enjoyable and meaningful music night. Thus, we promise to bring elaborate performances and more surprises in the following shows.
