TVU, 23.9.2016 – Starting the year off with this academic year TVU English majors have sent a cultural message to 60 attendees who joined the fun activities of the English Speaking Club on the evening of September 22 in TVU Campus One.
For many new and returning English majors the activities of yesterday evening kicked off the new academic year while lecturers from the U.S. and France enjoyed cross-cultural interaction with the youth from different backgrounds.
The theme of this kick-off ESL meeting was “Culture Shock” presented through fun activities including Flashmod Dance practice, Countries-Identity Game, and Culture Experience Discussions.
Tran Thi Thuy Quynh, a freshman from the School of Applied Chemistry, said: “I get to know ESC on TVU website and am so excited joining the Club to improve my English skills.”
Another student from the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, Le Phat Dat, said: “ESC is a very lively environment that helps all participants get more confident in speaking English”.
“I’m really into the ESC because students are very friendly and active. The atmosphere is also very friendly and I will join in the next Thursday evening,” said Heather Glemy, a teacher-volunteer from America.
ESC welcomes TVU students of all levels of English. The Club meets every Thursday evening from 6:30 in B1 Building, TVU Campus 1. Each meeting is a mix of regular attendees and new members.
